European Tree Frog
(
Hyla arborea
) – calling male with distended gular vocal sac (photo taken at night). The tree frog is one of the smallest European anurans – but also the loudest. In this case, at least 60 other males were present in the meadow pond, making an "infernal noise".

) mit aufgepumpter Kehl-Schallblase (Bild nachts aufgenommen). Der Laubfrosch gehört zwar zu den kleinsten europäischen Froschlurchen, aber auch zu den lautesten. Bei diesem nächtlichen Konzert waren gleichzeitig noch mindestens 60 weitere Männchen im Wiesentümpel anwesend, die einen Höllenlärm veranstalteten.
