Die Streckenverhältnisse sind ein bisschen kompliziert. Die Gleise links sind die Strecke
Leipzig Hbf–Connewitz
(LC/6361), die beiden rechts die Strecke
6345/ELSt
Engelsdorf–Connewitz, die seit dem Umbau am Streckenwechsel (bis zum Ausbau der Weichen Abzw) Tabakmühle in die Strecke LCV/6376 (Le Bayer Bf–Abzw Tabakmühle) übergeht. Der Bahnsteig ist ein S-Bahn-würdiger Inselbahnsteig; warum aber auf die eine Straßenseite nur eine Treppe und auf die andere nur ein Aufzug führen, wissen wohl nur die Planer. Platzmangel herrscht jedenfalls nicht. Ein wesentlicher Unterschied zu anderen S-Bahn-Netzen in vergleichbar feuchtem Klima ist der Wetterschutz, der bei der MDSB vollkommen unter den Tisch gefallen ist.
