The British occupation of Java. An Indian soldier guards a former Japanese army light tank used by Indonesian nationalists until knocked out by British forces during the fighting in Surabaya (Soerabaja).

De Britse bezetting van Java. Een Indiase soldaat bewaakt een tank die gebruikt was door Indonesische onafhankelijkheids strijders. De tank werd uitgeschakeld door de Britse strijdkrachten tijdens de slag in Soerabaja.
(Remark: The tank is a modified British Universal Carrier. The caption is misleading. What really is in the picture, is some unusual local conversion of British Universal carrier.
