Summary
Description Ilshu-rabi head.png |
English:
Stele of Ilšu-rabi (probably the governor of Pašime) from Tell Abu Sheeja (Maysan Governorate, Iraq, near Iraq-Iran border), dedicated to Šuda (an Elamite deity). The Old Akkadian cuneiform text on the left mentions the name of the ancient city of Pašime (lies west of Susa). Superficially, the art of depiction of this man appears Early Dynastic, but the cuneiform text evidently dates the stele to the reign of the Akkadian king Manishtushu. Excavated in 2007 CE, 1st excavation season at Tell Abu Sheeja. Akkadian period, reign of the Akkadian king Manishtushu, 2270-2255 BCE. On display at the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, Iraq.
