Summary

Description
English: MUC16 (CA125) is heavily glycosylated with both O-linked and N-linked oligosaccharides. The peptide backbone of CA125 is composed of the N-terminal region, extensive Ser/Thr/Prorich tandem repeat (TR) containing 165 amino acids each with both N- and O-glycosylations, a SEA domain with high levels of O-glycosylation, and a C-terminal region with a short cytoplasmic tail. The N-glycan moiety of CA125 repeat units binds to the CA125-binding domain (named IAB), the helical structure around Tyr318 at the N-terminus of the cell surface mesothelin. Line, coil. Tube, helix.
