Description Jarvis Field, bounded by Massachusetts Avenue, Everett Street, Oxford Street, and Jarvis Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, seen from Massachusetts Avenue just north of Jarvis Street. Jarvis Street runs along the right, Oxford Street and the w:Harvard Museum of Natural History are in the distance, and part of w:Hemenway Gymnasium is seen at right. Until the construction of w:Harvard Stadium ("Soldiers Field") in 1903, Jarvis Field was the site of Harvard's home football games and other athletic events.
