Koopmans-de Wet House
is a historic residence in Strand Street,
Cape Town
. It was originally built in 1701 and the current facade dates from about 1780. Marie Koopmans-de Wet (1834 - 1906), a prominent Capetownian gave her name to the house. The house became part of the
South African Museum
in 1913 and was declared a National Monument in 1940.
