The stranded japanese car carrier "Reijin" on the Madalena beach near O Porto (Portugal).

Dans la nuit du 26 au 27 avril 1988, le Reijin, naviguant en direction du port de Leixos (près de Porto au Portugal) afin d’y livrer des voitures, s’échoua en chavirant totalement à babord sur la plage de Madalena.
Le Reijin était un cargo transporteur de véhicules japonais (voiturier) juste mis en service qui effectuait son voyage inaugural entre la Japon et l’Irlande avec plus de 5000 automobiles Toyota à son bord. Le navire et sa cargaison furent irrécupérables. Le Reijin a été démoli sur place. Il appartenait à l’armateur japonais Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) et battait pavillon panaméen. Le Reijin mesurait 200 mètres de long. |
