Major cultures in the Late intermediate period (1000-1400 CE) in Peru
Note: this is based on "The Incas and their Ancestors" by Michael E. Moseley. This book was written in 1992 but does not cover the Chimu much, nor the newly discovered Chachapoyas culture. The Chimu are important to the story of the Inca conquest and the Chachapoyas are important as an example of a large culture that the Inca's and Spanish were unable to conquer.
This

image could be re-created
using
vector graphics
as an
SVG
file
. This has several advantages; see
Commons:Media for cleanup
for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{
vector version available
|
new image name
}}
.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Late-intermediate-peru.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva ) does not need the new image name parameter. |
