Leyland_Cross.jpg
Description Leyland Cross.jpg |
English:
Leyland Cross, Leyland, Lancashire. The "Cross", as it is simply known throughout Leyland, is believed to be medieval in date. It stands in what was once the centre of old Leyland. The drinking fountain replaces an old well which still exists below the surface. The old buildings and street behind have been demolished and a car park [for a well-known supermarket] now sadly dominate the area.
