Summary
Description Looking NE at Chapel main door - section 76-77 - Mt Olivet - Washington DC - 2014.jpg |
English:
Main entrance of the Chapel in section 76 and 77 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Washington, D.C., in the United States.
In many medieval chapels, burial spaces were included in the interior of the chapel -- especially near the altar. The cemetery chapel reflects this design, and three of the interior walls of this small, rectangular building contain columbaria spaces. The chapel, which is at the head of the path between sections 76 and 77, is used for Mass several times a week. |
