Description Luohan Laundering , by Lin Tinggui, painted in 1178 during the Song Dynasty; ink and color on a silk hanging scroll, measuring 111.8 cm (44 in) in height and 53.1 cm (20.8 in) in width. In the painting, five Chinese Buddhist luohan (arhats) and one attendant wash clothes in a stream and hang them up to dry.
