An illustration of Motorola's PowerPC 740 microprocessor, called MPC740, also known as a G3 processor. It's manufactured on a 0.25 μm aluminum process in week 31 of 1998 mounted on a ceramic ball grid array substrate. IBM have also made versions of the 740 called PPC740. Inspiration for the image comes from numerous pictures on the Internet, IBM, Motorola, Apple and privately owned photos.
