Summary
Description MY4112-Station.jpg |
English:
This is the station mark for station MY4112--PROSPECT HINGHAM, located at the peak of Prospect Hill in Wompatuck State park, Hingham, MA. This is a brass disk, about 3.5 in. in diameter. The triangle indicates that this is a station mark, and the small dot at its center indicates the precise location of the station. The disk has been recessed into a depression chiseled into a rock ledge. The original station mark (a copper bolt) was set in 1834, and was reset with this more modern disk in 1933.
