Description |
English:
First unambiguous painting on Maharani Durgavati, shown gearing-up for the Battle of Narrai. This fresco-secco in tempera by Beohar Rammanohar Sinha is in the
Shaheed-Smarak
or Martyrs'-Memorial Auditorium in Jabalpur MP (India). Maharani Durgavati sacrificed her life, along with her Prime-Minister Beohar Adhar Simha and his battalion, fighting against Emperor Akbar’s corps of Mughal-Army in 1564 CE. The artist Beohar Rammanohar Sinha, a descendent of Beohar Adhar Simha, is very well known the world over for illuminating the original Constitution of India in 1949.
