by Joaquim de Mello. NOTE: Although the book discusses ships of the 15th and 16th centuries, Malay galley (ghali) only appeared in the archipelago after the 1530s (16th century) based on the influence of the Portuguese galleys, so the Malays did not use galleys prior to that.
