Summary

Description
English: Map (routes not to scale but stylised) of the five lines that together form Australia's north–south transcontinental rail corridor linking Adelaide and Darwin. Differing political priorities at state and federal levels, and economic factors, resulted in 87 years elapsing between completion of the first and last of these lines; the resulting five key stages are therefore shown.
