Description
English: Mayurpokhyi Kehl-Nao (Pleasure boat) of Kamalabari Satra. The Khel-Nao is of the period of Badula Padma Ata, who established the Kamalabari Satra in 1673, it was used as a medium of transportation for him, and after his demise it was used for other socio-religious activities. Used until 1973 till it was donated to ASM (Assam state Museum). The present boat on display has undergone some structural changes, from actually what it actually looked. The lenght of this boat is 55 feet (16.77 metres), and the width is 5-8 feet (1.58 metres). The timber from Camphor (Gondhosoroi), Laherstroemia (Ejaar), and Pine trees were used in the construction of the boat.
