Summary

Description In 1910 New York issued it's first government issue in white rivited umbers on a flat blue base. Prior to 1910 New Yorkers were assigned a number and they provided their own plates. Many of these pre 1910 issues were of similar format to this 1910 plate but were made of wood, metal numbers on leather, porcelain, rivited like this one or just flat painted on any material. Plate undated.
