Porkeri
, who built the first Faroese ship since Medieval times. They built with others Royndin Fríða in 1804 on the place where the memorial is now. The memorial is in the centre of town, close to the church, on the mainroad Vágsvegur.

Minnisvarðin á myndini er til minnis um at Føroya fyrsta skip varð bygt í Vági, har sum minnisvarðin nú stendur. Tað vóru Nólsoyar Páll, Jákup bóndi í Toftum (í Vági) og Per bóndi í Gjørðum (í Porkeri) sum saman við øðrum bygdu skipið Royndina Fríðu. Royndin Fríða var fyrsta skip sum bleiv bygt í Føroyum síðan miðøld. Tað var Tóri Nattestad, ið gjørdi minnisvarðan.

Mindessten til minde om at Færøernes første skib blev bygget i Vágur i 1804 af Nólsoyar Páll, Jákup bonde i Toftum i Vágur og Per bonde i Gjørðum i Porkeri. Skibet fik navnet Royndin Fríða og blev bygget der hvor mindesstenen nu står. Mindesstenen står midt i Vágur ved hovedvejen Vágsvegur, lige i nærheden af kirken og Krosslábrekkan. Havnen er lige nedenfor mindesstenen.
