Summary

Description
English: Old railway, Donaghadee. The Belfast & County Down Railway (BCDR) operated a line from Comber via Newtownards to Donaghadee. The BCDR was nationalised in 1948 becoming part of the Ulster Transport Authority ("UTA" sometimes called "Ulster's Terrible Affliction"). The UTA closed the line in April 1950. In Donaghadee most of the line has disappeared into a park and car park. There must be a reason but this short section (about 200/300 yards) of cutting and bridge still survives (56 years after closure) in The Commons having escaped commercial or municipal development.
