English: Photograph of the 1851 Oneida County Courthouse in Rome, New York . The architecture is in the Greek Revival style that was popular in Upstate New York in the 19th century. This courthouse replaced one built in 1801 that had burned down in 1848.

  • The four Ionic columns of the portico support a simple Greek Revival frieze, entablature and pediment. The structure is brick and the decorations are wood.
  • The east wing of the courthouse was constructed in 1874 in order to provide rooms for the judge and jury, and washrooms. The dome was added to the courthouse in 1902."
