Stela (tablica 107.) Stela to grecki kamień nagrobny. Zwykle ma postać pionowej płyty z napisami, czasami zwężającej się ku górze, zdobiona jest rozetami, girlandami i figurami. U szczytu prosty gzyms, którego zwieńczeniem jest ornament przypominający Akroterion . Chociaż akroterion i stela często mają całkowicie identyczną formę (tablica 105. 4 przedstawia stelę, która równie dobrze mogła być antefiksem, zob. [ https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antefiks Antefiks), to jednak styl steli jest z reguły bardziej surowy; a charakterystyczną cechą wielu steli jest to, że nie mają one uderzającego środka w kształcie palmy, który zawsze posiada akroterion (ryc. 2 i 3). Bardzo często również stela jest tak zaprojektowana, że boki są wydłużone, aby utworzyć większy element (rys. 1 i 4). Pomniki te, poświęcone pamięci zmarłych, lepiej niż cokolwiek innego ukazują szczególną indywidualność i piękno greckiego ornamentu.
