Penyffordd signal box located by the Down Main line at the north end of Penyffordd station. Monday 7th September 1987 Penyffordd signal box is a British Railways London Midland Region Type 15 design which opened fitted with a 25 lever London Midland Region Standard frame on 17th December 1972, replacing an earlier signal located just to the north. It was built using parts moved from Madeley Chord signal box which closed on 22nd August 1971 The signal box carries a pair of British Rail corporate identity printed design nameplates |
