This is a piece of ephemera handed down to me, going back to my GGG Grandfather, J.H. Greene and has his annotation in the margin. It is a small flyer promoting "the Peoples Ticket" for the municipal elections circa 1876, Salt Lake City, Utah. I have contacted the LDS Church to find out more about this. Note the script along the edges written in the
Deseret alphabet
.
The People's Party of Utah was a late 19th century political party in the Utah Territory that was backed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in order to oppose the Liberal Party of Utah , which was backed by anti-Mormons. |
