English: Pinckney Marcius-Simons, first title page, extra-illustrated copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The artist painted dozens of watercolor images directly onto the surface of a printed edition of Paul Meurice's 1886 French translation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The work is signed on the last page: P. Marcius-Simons Bayreuth 1908. The book is in the collection of the Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington, D.C., acquired 1924. All the images can be viewed at the Folger Digital Images Collection. [1]
