Summary
Description Portland MAX train of Type 2 + Type 1 cars at 5th & Mill (2015).jpg | Portland, Oregon: An ad-free MAX train composed of a Type 2 car (low-floor design) and a Type 1 car (older, high-floor design) southbound on S.W. 5th Avenue at Mill Street in Downtown Portland (which TriMet refers to as the City Center, contrary to common local usage). The specific cars shown are 223 + 103. TriMet's Type 2 cars are a series of 52 Siemens SD660 LRVs (light rail vehicles) built over the period 1996–2000, which were the first low-floor LRVs in North America, and its Type 1 cars are a series of 26 LRVs built by Bombardier over the period 1983–86. |
