Summary
Description Portland Mall CCTV monitor in shelter, 1987.jpg | Closed-circuit television monitor mounted inside a passenger shelter at a bus stop on Tri-Met's Portland Mall transit mall (in Portland, Oregon) in 1987. The mall opened in 1977 with these black-and-white information monitors, but color monitors replaced them in late 1988. This specific shelter was on 6th Avenue at Salmon Street, one of the "Fish" symbol stops in Tri-Met's organization of Mall bus stops. The monitors provided the next three scheduled departure times for each route serving a given stop, and in the case of the Fish stops, this included some C-Tran service to Vancouver, Washington. (At the time of the photo, this monitor was slightly out of adjustment, causing the first character of each line to be out-of-view; the heading should have read "NO.", and the numbers of the fourth and fifth routes shown as 17 and 40.) |
