Description :

An ancient holy book called Pustaha which comes from the Batak. Contains writings about traditional medical treatments, magic, about ways to ward off evil (poda), mantras and prayers for good things in order to achieve certain goals. Written in Batak script, it consists of lampak (cover) and Lak-lak (tree bark as a medium for writing). The cover of the book with a lizard-shaped motif that symbolizes Lord Baraspati in Tano. Pustaha is made of wood or layers of wood from the alim tree (Aquilaria Malaccensis). The ink comes from burnt lime and a mixture of the essence of sona and hake, as for the writing method using chicken feathers.

Kitab suci kuno yang bernama Pustaha yang berasal dari Batak. Berisikan tulisan tentang cara perawatan medis secara tradisional, sihir, tentang cara untuk menangkal hal jahat (poda), mantra dan doa untuk hal yang baik agar dapat mencapai tujuan tertentu. Ditulis dalam aksara Batak, terdiri atas lampak (cover) dan Lak-lak (kulit pohon sebagai media untuk menulis). Sampul buku dengan motif bentuk kadal yang melambangkan Dewa Baraspati di Tano.Pustaha terbuat dari kayu atau lapisan kayu dari pohon alim (aquilaria Malaccensis) tintanya datang dari hasil kapur yang dibakar dan campuran dari esensi sona dan hake, adapun cara penulisannya menggunakan bulu ayam.
