Format: Fotopositiv Fra utstillingen i anledning Trondhjems 900-årsjubileum i 1897. Utstillingstekst i Trondhjems 900 Aars Jubilæum: Katalog for Den Historiske Udstilling i Trondhjem 1897: 748-749. Dass, Benjamin, f. 1706 i Herø (Helgeland), d. 1775 i Kbhavn; Rektor i Trondhjem 1734-51. Ugift. Søn af Jacob Benjaminsen D. (en Brodersøn af den beskjendte Digter og Præst til Alstahaug Petter D.) og Marie Carstensdatter Volqvartz (en Søster af den trønderske Digter Marcus V., d. 1720 som Sognepræst til Ørlandet). Var en særdeles dygtig Skolemand. "Han annammede Trondhiems Skole i en meget slet Tilstand og efterlod den i en ypperlig," siger Suhm. Tog Afsked 1751 og afstod Rektoratet til sin Elev Gerhard Schøning (No.750). Boede fra 1753 i Kjøbenhavn, optaget med videnskabelige Sysler og med at hjælpe sine Venner i Trondhjems med deres litterære Arbeider. Var lærd som faa i vort Land; men har intet udgivet. Hans Bogsamling gik over til Schøning og kom med hans til Videnskabsselskabet. 748. Akvarel (Miniatur) i Sølvramme. *Bergens Billedgalleri. 749.
