Motiv: I blått en opprett sølv tømmersaks. [1] Rømskog er ei typisk skogbygd og dei folkevalde gjekk inn for tømmersaksa som motiv i kommunevåpenet. Blåfargen står for dei mange innsjøane og vatna i bygda. Handtaket på tømmersaksa er øvst og gripeklørne er nedst, slik saksa er i den stillinga når ho blir brukt og når ho heng på veggen.
