Description

Scarus vetula
A colorful Queen Parrotfish (Scarus vetula) grazes on coral in the late afternoon.

The parrotfish gets its name from the sharp beak, evident in this photo. It's made up of fused teeth and is powerful enough to scrape hard coral from the surface of the reef.
