English: KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii - Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina C-17 Globemaster III pilot, Captain Jaime Turner and U. S. Air Force Academy , Colorado Springs, Colorado Instructor, Major William Poteet pose for a photo on Oct. 7, while at Kona, Hawaii for the Iron Man Triathlon World Championships. The two U. S. Coast Guardsmen are representing their service in the grueling race that is both a mentally and challenging event. The competitors must complete a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike race and then finish with a 26 mile marathon all in one day. Description:The Air Force Ironman team of Capt. Jaime Turner and Maj. Scott Poteet are at Kona, Hawaii, Oct. 7, 2010, for the 2010 Ironman World Championships. The Airmen were representing their service in the military division of the grueling race that is both mentally and physically challenging. Major Poteet is assigned to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Captain Turner is a C-17 Globemaster III pilot at Joint Base Charleston, S.C.
