Description Second Shepherds Play 01620035.jpg |
A moment from The Second Shepherds' Play in the Wakefield Mystery Plays as performed by The Players of St Peter in London in 2005. The shepherds are realising that the baby in the cradle is in fact one of their sheep. Daw says: "Give me leave him to kiss and lift up the clowt [cloth]. What the devil is this? He has a long snout." ( Original script line 584). From left to right: Roger W Haworth (Gib), Mike Waring (Daw), Oliver Clement (seated, Mak), Carrolle Jamieson (Gill), Eve Haughton (in cradle, Sheep), Nick Carter (Coll). |
