This is the official seal for the Town of Smithtown as of 2023. The coat of arms on the inside is attributed as being Richard Smythe's, the founder of the town. On top of the coat of arms is a bull, which represents Whisper, the Bull that Richard Smythe rode when establishing the borders for Smithtown, according to local legend. Underneath is the motto "Nec Timeo Nec Sperno", which means "Neither fear nor despise".
