Fotografiet er trolig tatt av den norske sykepleieren og misjonæren Bodil Biørn, som reiste til Armenia i KMAs tjeneste i 1905. Med to avbrudd arbeidet hun ute til 1935, først i Armenia og senere blant armenske flyktninger utenfor Armenia.
