Summary
Description The sunny side of the street (27510308900).jpg |
From one end of the country to the other, today we are in Main Street Ballymoney, County Antrim. I wonder if "life can be so sweet on the sunny side of the street". Today's contributions focused on the businesses closest to camera, including Beattie's earthenware to the right, and [ Boylan's spirits] to the left. Based on these businesses and the buildings pictured, including "Currie's" opposite the clock tower of the Masonic/Market Hall, the consensus is that the image dates to the end of the range. Likely turn of the 20th century. And likely in the summer. Around lunchtime.... Photographer: Robert French Collection: Lawrence Photograph Collection Date: c.1880-1900 (likely c.1900) NLI Ref: L_ROY_07004 You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie |
