Summary

Description
Scanned image of the same thin section.
English: Optical mineralogy: Photomicrographs of thin section from Siilinjärvi apatite ore. Carbonate vein in thin section R276 108.40-108.55. The sample is highly deformed (shear grade 1), as can be seen from uniformly oriented elongated phlogopite laths. The carbonates are present in relatively large unoriented grains, which indicates recrystallisation. Granular aggregates are the most common form of carbonates in Siilinjärvi. Photomicrograph from thin section in cross and plane polarised light.
