English:
Thorpe Prebend House. Ripon, Yorkshire, Great Britain. One of the oldest and most historic houses in Ripon. It was rebuilt in 1609 and it is said that King James 1 and Mary Queen of Scots stayed here. A 'prebend' was an ecclesiastical estate that provided the church and clergy with funds.
