The itinerary for Monday, 25 January 1954 is below:

10.00 a.m. Leave Longbeach (Ashburton) by car for Timaru via Eiffelton, Longbeach Road and main route.

11.25 a.m. Enter Timaru via Evans Street, and arrive Ashbury Park.

11.30 a.m. Civic reception (Mayor - Mr R.E. White)

11.45 a.m. Leave by car for Grosvenor Hotel via Evans Street, Stafford Street, Strathallan Steet, and Cain's Terrace.

12.05 p.m. Arrive Hotel.

12.30 p.m. Civic luncheon at Grosvenor Hotel (Mayor - Mr R. E. White)

1.30 p.m. Leave by car for Timaur Railway Station via Cain's Terrace, Strathallan Street, Stafford Street, and George Street.

1.40 p.m. Arrive Railway Station and join Royal Train. (photo above, pictured Mayor Mr R.E. White).

1.45 p.m. Leave for Oamaru.

3.05 p.m. Arrive Oamaru (Thames Street Railway Crossing)

3.10 p.m. Leave by car for Takaro Park via Thames Street and Severn Street

3.20 p.m. Public Welcome at Takaro Park (Mayor - Mr M.F.E. Cooney).

3.35 p.m. Walk to Severn Street Railway Crossing and rejoin train.

3.40 p.m. Leave for Palmerston.

5.05 p.m. Arrive Palmerston. Public welcome at Railway Station Mayor - Mr W.J. Hopkins.

5.20 p.m. Rejoin Royal Train.

5.25 p.m. Leave for Dunedin.

6.50 p.m. Arrive Dunedin.

6.55 p.m. Leave Railway Station by car for Law Courts Hotel via High Street, Cumberland Street, Rattray Street, Princes Street, the Octagon, Stuart Street, and Cumberland Street.

7.05 p.m. Arrive Law Courts Hotel where staying during Dunedin visit.
