Summary
Description UR-YAD A320-211 Yan Air MAN 10DEC13 (11309076224).jpg |
English:
Yan Air's single A320 arriving on a charter flight from Donetsk with soccer fans to watch their team play against Manchester United this evening.
Another ageing A320 that's 'been around'. Delivered to Ansett Airlines in Nov-97 as VH-HYN and operated by them until they ceased operations in Mar-02. It was returned to the lessor and stored in the USA as N726NS. In Oct-02 it was leased to Armavia as P4-VMF, later being re-registered in Armenia as EK-32007. It was returned to the lessor in Oct-05 and leased to LAT Charter in Latvia as YL-BCB. LAT Charter was renamed SmartLynx Airlines in Sep-08. During its time with LAT Charter/SmartLynx, an ACMI operator, it was operated for many third-party airlines. The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Jan-11 and stored at Shannon (SNN). In Jun-11 it was leased to White Airways in Portugal as CS-TQS. It was returned to the lessor in Feb-13, initially re-registered EI-FAI and stored at Amman (AMM). It was ferried to Goodyear (GYR), AZ, USA in Apr-13 where it was transferred to Bank of Utah {as owner trustee} and re-registered N281LF. It was thought to be permanently retired but in Aug-13 it was leased to Yan Air, Ukraine. Now 16 years old (Dec-13) it's looking good in Yan Air's 'Monarch style' livery.
