  • Tangible assets is the total of nonfarm nonfinancial corporate business, nonfarm noncorporate business, households and non-profits, state and local government, federal government, and financial sector. This includes all sectors except farm business, for which no data is available. (although this is likely to be small)
  • Domestic debt is debt owed by Americans to Americans. It is total credit market debt minus foreign-owned credit market debt.
  • US owned foreign assets is foreign liabilities plus US-owned corporate equities.
  • "Other domestic financial assets" is whatever is left of total assets after subtracting US owned foreign assets and domestic debt. This is mostly things like bank deposits and pension fund reserves.
