Description
English: The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) returns to her homeport Bremerton, Washington (USA), on 23 January 2002, after completing a six month deployment. Carl Vinson , with assigned Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11), was deployed to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 23 July 2001 to 23 January 2002. As the first carrier on station in the North Arabian Sea in support of "Operation Enduring Freedom", she was the first to launch air strikes on Afghanistan. She was 111 consecutive days at sea in support of this mission.
