Summary

Description

A U.S. Navy Grumman S-2E Tracker of Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 57 (CVSG-57) is about to land on the anti-submarine carrier USS Hornet (CVS-12) off Vietnam on 5 December 1968. CVSG-57 was deployed aboard the Hornet to Vietnam from 30 September 1968 to 12 May 1969.

Two colourful Grumman US-2 Tracker target tugs and four S-2Es are parked on deck, as are a Grumman E-1B Tracer of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 111 (VAW-111) Det.12 "Hunters" and two Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King s of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 2 (HS-2) "Golden Falcons".
