Summary

A map of the selection processes for state supreme courts in the United States. The map covers the initial selection (in the case of an open seat), as well as the process by which a judge can seek additional terms. For the sake of simplicity various factors that go into state supreme court selection are not covered by this map; for example, the confirmation process of appointments is not covered here.
