ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 3, 2007) - The ships that make up Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 1 transit in formation while participating in Exercise Amazolo with the South African navy. SNMG1 is on a historic NATO deployment circumnavigating Africa for the first time and traveling more than 12,500 miles with six ships from six different nations.
