Description
English: PORT BLAIR, India (March 24, 2010) Mineman Seaman Derek Smith helps a boy from the Ramakrishna mission, an orphanage in Port Blair, plant a tree. Smith was one of 16 Sailors assigned to the mine countermeasures ship USS Patriot (MCM 7) who cleared ground to plant a garden of pomegranate, guava and lemon trees at the mission. Patriot is the first U.S. Navy warship to visit Port Blair and will be conducting military training with the Indian navy.
