Summary
Description United Streetcar 10T3 prototype for Portland.jpg |
English:
The prototype
streetcar (tram)
built by U.S. manufacturer
United Streetcar, LLC
, using
Škoda's 10T
design under license. It is car number 015 in the fleet of the
Portland Streetcar
system (of
Portland, Oregon
). It is pictured at the OHSU Commons stop, in Portland's South Waterfront District, at the end of an unveiling ceremony at which the key speaker was
U.S. Transportation Secretary
Ray LaHood
. The car's
destination sign
had been temporarily programmed to welcome the secretary.
In common with all other cars in the fleet, car 015's two-color paint scheme is reversed on the opposite sides and ends; the side not visible here is blue, and the far end (which also has a driving cab) is red. Car 015 entered service in 2012 (delayed by a 2010 decision to change its propulsion equipment, which was implemented in 2011). |
