Die damalige Gemeinde Bleiwäsche erhält vom Land Nordrhein-Westfalen am 6. April 1966 die Erlaubnis, das folgende Wappen zu führen: Beschreibung : In Silber (Weiß) das blaue alchimistische Symbol für Blei unter grünem Schildhaupt, darin zwischen zwei aufrechten Eichblättern eine aufrechte Ähre, alle gold (gelb). Bedeutung: Das alchimistische Symbol für Blei symbolisiert den in früheren Jahrhunderten stattfindenden Erzbergbau, insbesondere von Blei, dem der Ort seinen Namen zu verdanken hat. Das Schildhaupt steht für die überwiegenden Waldflächen und die Landwirtschaft in der Gemarkung von Bleiwäsche.
