Summary
Description Washington - Looking NE from API Office (4426409384).jpg |
Looking northeast from American Petroleum Institute, at 1220 L Street, NW. St. Agnes Church is in the foreground. It is an Episcopalian church, built in 1874 on Massachusetts Avenue. The building that API occupied was about as far as new office development went at the time. Most of the buildings in this photo are apartments. The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Catholic) is in the right background. It is on the second highest point in the District of Columbia. (The higest point is the National Cathedral - Episcopalian or Anglican.) I probably took this photo from a higher floor than my tenth-floor office. (The twelfth floor was the highest.) |
